Douglas Clouse, MD
Dr. Clouse is a Sports Medicine Fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon. His practice has a focus on treating conditions relating to the shoulder and knee, with an emphasis on the treatment of athletic injuries.
Dr. Clouse is a native of Arizona and was born and raised in the East Valley. He did his undergraduate training at Brigham Young University and graduated with his BS in 1997 (Pre-Physical Therapy Major). He then completed his medical training in New Orleans, LA at Tulane School of Medicine in May of 2002. While in medical school he was appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society, an honor given to the students in the top ten percent of the class. He was also selected as the outstanding orthopedic student of his class.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Clouse moved to San Antonio, TX in order to complete a one year internship and four year orthopedic surgery residency. Much of his time was spent in the level one trauma center in San Antonio where he was responsible for the care of patients sustaining orthopedic trauma related injuries. During his final year he was appointed as the chief administrative resident.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Clouse elected to stay in Texas in order to enroll in a one year Sports Medicine Fellowship that focused on the arthroscopic treatment of shoulder and knee conditions. There was also a focus on the treatment of arthritic conditions to include joint replacements of the knee, shoulder and hip. Dr. Clouse is trained to perform total joint replacements utilizing the Signature Total Knee System, partial knee replacements and hip resurfacing.
Dr. Clouse set up his Orthopedic Surgery practice in Chandler, Arizona in 2008. He treats all musculoskeletal conditions with a focus on the treatment of conditions effecting the knee and shoulder. This including meniscus tears, ACL/knee ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, shoulder dislocations, rotator cuff tears, labral injuries and treating all arthritic conditions.
